The Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster) is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor and troubleshoot your website's Google search presence. It is extremely important for understanding how your site is ranking and performing in organic search. It provides information about what keywords/search queries potential customers are using to get to your site, and how you're ranking for those keywords. It enables you to:
- Confirm that Google can find and crawl your site.
- Fix indexing problems and request re-indexing of new or updated content.
- View Google Search traffic data for your site: how often your site appears in Google Search, which search queries show your site, how often searchers click through for those queries, and more.
- Receive alerts when Google encounters indexing, spam, or other issues on your site.
- Show you which sites link to your website.
- Troubleshoot issues for AMP, mobile usability, and other Search features.
When you purchase our implementation service, the Bookoo Marketing team will:
- Set up your Google Search Console account and link it to the various versions of your site domain (e.g., with "www", https, and non-https)
- Connect the Search Console to your Google Analytics account
- Request that Google index your homepage
- Point Google to your sitemap file
In order to set up your account, our team will need administrative access to either your Google Analytics account, your domain registrar, or your website. (There are times when one of these doesn't work, so we may need access to all of these accounts.) Once you've made your purchase we will contact you to arrange for access.
